The Passing of Dr. Ross Giese

Dear CMS Members:

            It is with great sadness that The Clay Minerals Society was contacted by Dr. Patricia Costanzo, the wife of Dr. Ross Giese to inform CMS of his passing.  Dr. Giese passed peacefully at home on August 1st after a long illness.  Dr. Giese has been a long-term member of CMS and served as President from 1994-1995.

His obituary is enclosed.

So sorry to hear that Mary,  I remember Ross well.  I also remember a really funny story from an international clay conference field trip that we were on years ago (probably not appropriate now but someday).  Both Patricia and Ross were on the trip.  Do we have an address for condolences?  Thanks.
