Hi all

I am looking for a small robust rock saw to replace a defunct Hilquist.

We can use bench or stand alone saws.  My major criteria are durability -including rusting, cutting power, ease of cleaning, and ease of use.  I would greatly appreciate any advice on replacements including but not limited to:

Hi-Tech diamond 10” slab saw
Covington 10” trim saw
Highland Park lapidary Model PT
Barranca Diamond BD10

Thanks
Harold

Hi Harold,

We went with this one:  MK Diamond - MK-101 Tile Sawhttps://www.mkdiamond.com/tile/saw_101.html

It’s a great saw, highly recommend it. We have the stand alone model since we are short on counter space.

Jen

Hi Harold,

I have a Barranca Diamond that meets the criteria you are looking for. It
is easy to use and easy to clean and does not take up too much space. I
have a 7” and was able to purchase it at a gem and mineral show. Also, look
at the Ameritool brand. I have a table top trim saw that I’m very happy
with.

We have the same saw, branded Parsons.
Easy to use and never had a problem with it.
I think we got it at Home Depot over 20 years ago and its still going
strong.
