Apologies for multiple postings:
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 31 July 2019, 23:59 ET
Dear All,
We would like to draw your attention to the 2019 AGU session V048:
The Formation and Evolution of the Continental Crust and its influence on the Hydro- and Atmosphere.
The continental crust of Earth is unique among the rocky planets. It has had an important role in modifying the composition of the hydrosphere and atmosphere through Earth history. However, the processes and the timing of when the continental crust formed remain the subject of vigorous debate. Similarly, our understanding of the volume and compositional evolution of the continental crust through Earth history remains poorly constrained. In this session we welcome interdisciplinary geological, geophysical, geodynamical and geochemical studies that shed light on how and when the continental crust was formed and modified and on its important role in Earth’s evolution.
Invited Speakers: Ria Fischer (Geomar, Germany) and Nadja Dabron (Stanford)
Conveners: Roger Fu (Harvard), Ben Klein (Boston College), Jill VanTongeren (Rutgers) and Oliver Jagoutz (MIT)
