Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce the 2026 edition of the Workshop on High-Pressure Mineral Physics and Magmatic Petrology, designed for Master’s and Ph.D. students interested in experimental Earth sciences. The workshop will feature introductory lectures on key topics in mineral physics and magmatic petrology, combined with hands-on training in high-pressure experimental techniques. Participants will gain practical experience with piston-cylinder, multi-anvil, and diamond anvil cell experiments, as well as melt inclusion analysis. A dedicated session will also introduce synchrotron-based analytical techniques. Workshop Details Location: Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans, Clermont-Ferrand, France Dates: November 2 – 6, 2026 Costs Participation is free of charge. The workshop covers travel within mainland Europe, accommodation, breakfast, and lunch. Application Process Participation is limited to 15 students. Applicants will be selected based on the relevance of their academic background and research interests. The application deadline is June 15 , 2026.
