Hello:

We are seeking two postdoctoral scholars to assist in a multi-year, fully funded research project on critical metals in copper mine tailings (https://sites.arizona.edu/copper-mine-tailings/) at the University of Arizona. The project is highly interdisciplinary and involves geology, mineralogy, geological remote sensing, chemistry and chemical engineering, extractive metallurgy, environmental science/engineering, and related fields. The two postdocs will join a friendly and diverse team of researchers with access to cutting-edge analytical and experimental facilities and active collaborations with industry and government.

Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant field by August 2024 and be prepared for research both within that field and across disciplinary boundaries. Familiarity with the mining industry is beneficial but not required. For more information, please see the application portal (https://arizona.csod.com/ux/ats/careersite/4/home/requisition/18823?c=arizona) or contact Dr. Isabel Barton at fay1@arizona.edumailto:fay1@arizona.edu.
