Dear colleagues,
We would like to invite abstract submissions to a special symposium at the ACS Spring 2027 Meeting honoring the scientific achievements of 2027 Geochemistry Medalist Michelle Scherer.
Symposium honoring the scientific achievements of
2027 Geochemistry Medalist Michelle Scherer
The symposium will celebrate Professor Michelle Scherer’s broad and influential contributions to environmental geochemistry, including mineral-water interfacial reactions, redox processes, contaminant fate and transformation, environmental mineralogy, and related areas of geochemistry and environmental chemistry. We welcome contributed presentations that connect with these themes and with the broader scientific directions influenced by Professor Scherer’s work.
ACS Spring 2027 Meeting
New Orleans, LA
March 21–25, 2027
Abstract submission deadline: September 28
Abstracts can be submitted through the ACS Spring 2027 Call for Abstracts under the Geochemistry Division (GEOC): https://callforabstracts.acs.org/acsspring2027/GEOC
Organizers:
Yuanzhi Tang, Georgia Institute of Technology
David Cwiertny, University of Iowa
Vitalii Starchenko, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
Dan Tsang, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
We hope many colleagues from the mineralogical and geochemical communities will join us in New Orleans to celebrate Professor Scherer and the impact of her science.
Best regards,
Yuanzhi Tang
