MSA is pleased to announce the 2020 recipients for the research grants in mineralogy and petrology from MSA’s Mineralogy/Petrology Research Fund:
Behnaz Hosseini, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT, USA - "Reentrants: Reliable recorders of magma decompression rates?"
Hannah Tompkins, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA. - "Understanding Zr stable isotope fractionation in magmatic environments: Insights from experimental systems."
MSA is also pleased to announce the 2020 recipient for the research grant in crystallography from the Edward H. Kraus Crystallographic Research Fund:
Md Abu Raihan Chowdhury, Kent State University, Kent, OH, USA - "The role of mineral surface coatings on colloids in controlling metal transport in acid mine drainage-impacted areas.”
Congratulations to the three awardees and best wishes for success in their research efforts.
