Dear colleagues,

The EXCITE Network (www.excite-network.euhttp://www.excite-network.eu) is an international microscopy community that facilitates transnational access (TNA) to the equipment offered free of charge by European Earth Science research facilities in the field of X-ray tomography and electron microscopy for structural and chemical imaging and analysis of Earth and planetary materials. By providing open access to our research facilities, we are helping to build international collaborations showcasing your work through an open-science network.

In our 2nd call for TNA, access to 24 facilities hosting 49 pieces of equipment will be provided by 14 scientific partners in the EXCITE community. The user has the option of remote access, in which all fees associated with transporting samples and materials will be covered, as well as the option to physically visit the facility of their choosing and work closely with experts in their field while having all travel, accommodation, and costs of living reimbursed.

The access details of each facility and the available equipment can be found in this linkhttps://excite-network.eu/excite-transnational-access-call-open/, along with the proposal submission form (short 2-page proposals) and contact information. We strongly encourage potential users to reach out to a facility managerhttps://excite-network.eu/app/uploads/2022/06/1.-EXCITE_2ndcall_TNA_Facility_information_complete.pdf to discuss technical aspects of their projects. The 2nd TNA call is open until the 31st of August 2022 during which proposals can be submitted at any time. Access under this call may begin as early as 1st of November 2022 and must be completed by 30st of April 2023.
On behalf of the EXCITE Network,

Oliver Plümper
