Dear mineral sciences community members,

We are writing with updates and reminders about the exciting MSA
all-things-mineral-sciences conference that will be held in Tucson,
Arizona, in February 2027.

The meeting will start on Sunday, 14 February, with a day of overlap with
the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show®, followed by 3 days of talks + posters and
other events (15-17 February), and an optional day of field trips
(Thursday, 18 February).

In our last email, we listed our top 7 reasons why you should attend this
meeting. We actually have 10 Top Reasons:

  1. All meeting attendees will have the opportunity to share and hear the
best and the breadth of the Mineral Sciences in our all-plenary sessions.

  2. Student presenters will receive free registration + financial
    support
    for
    travel and meeting costs.

  3. Non-student attendees can enjoy low-cost (less than the Big Meetings)
    registration
    .

  4. Meeting registration for everyone includes lunches, coffee/tea breaks,
and a reception at the University of Arizona / Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral
    Museum.

  5. MSA meeting registration also includes a Sunday (14 February) ticket to
the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show
® for anyone who wants to arrive in time for
    that.

  6. There will be a variety of optional field trips to classic Arizona
mineral localities or other interesting sites in or near Tucson.

  7. During the meeting, there will be a mindat https://www.mindat.org/
    workshop by Jolyon Ralph.

  8. There will be *superb mingling opportunities for all, *including at
lunches, poster sessions, and the reception.

  9. There will be special events for MSA Student Chapter members and mentors.

  10. Tucson! Arizona! February!
