The Friends of the Colorado School of Mines Geology museum, the Friends of
Mineralogy, Colorado Chapter and the Denver Region Exploration Geologists invite
interested professionals, amateurs and students to participate in the Second Eugene
Foord Pegmatite Symposium in Golden, Colorado. There will be two full days of talks,
July 15-17, followed by two days of field trips.

The symposium convening committee is interested in presentations on the pegmatite
geology and mineralogy in the Four Corners region as well as world-wide
occurrences, pegmatite genesis, pegmatite mineralogy - geochemistry, structure and
crystallography, and pegmatite mining histories. We invite talks for 30 minute time
slots (20-25 minutes presentation, 10-5 minute questions). We prefer powerpoint
presentations but can accommodate 35 millimeter slide presentations (80 slide
carousels). Posters are also invited for presentation using the Geological Society of
American standards (4' x 8' or 46-1/8" high by 94-3/4"wide or 117cm x 240 cm). The
technical level of the presentations is encouraged to appeal to both professionals and
interested laymen. We will be providing the sound system and both wireless (lapel,
hand-held or headset) and wired microphone as well as a wireless computer slide
advancer.

Presentation and poster titles should be submitted by February 10, 2015. Abstracts or
extended abstracts with or without pictures should be submitted by May 15, 2015.
Digital submittal in word format may be by mail, email or via a website to be provided
later. If oral presentation slots are oversubscribed, presenters will be given the option
of a poster session.  Registration forms and fee schedule to be posted to the
symposium website and facebook page.
