Position Opening, extension: Geochronology lab manager, University of Michigan

Dear colleagues,

The department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of
Michigan, USA, is seeking to hire a full-time Geochronology Laboratory
Manager. Please see details here:

Briefly, the laboratory space consists of a LA-ICP-MS system (NWR ESI193
laser with Agilent 7900 quadrupole ICP-MS) for U/Th–Pb petrochronology and
AlphaCHRON system for U/Th–He thermochronology, with anticipated addition
of another LA-ICP-MS system (Thermo Element II ICP-MS) within the calendar
year. The department also hosts support facilities for sample preparation
(mineral separation, optical microscopy, polishing) as well as a separately
managed electron-beam microanalysis facility (SEM and EPMA).

The deadline for applications has been extended to  9 March 2026, after
which applications will continue to be reviewed until the position is
filled.
