Münster Early Career Postdoctoral Fellowships in Geosciences

The Institute for Mineralogy at Münster University invites applications for up to two postdoctoral scholarships starting Spring/Summer 2023.

We are seeking applications from outstanding early-career Geoscientists of any nationality with a strong interest and demonstrated experience in the fields of Geochemistry, Mineral physics or Experimental Petrology.

Fellows will pursue independent Earth Science research in any area that complements or expands upon existing research programs in the institute. They will be mentored by senior scientists, while being given access to generous personal development and learning opportunities.

The fellowships are considered seed-funding and hence the fellows are expected to apply for follow-up funding during the term of their fellowships. The initial stipends will be for one year, with the possibility of a 6 months extension.

The University of Münster is one of the largest research universities in Germany and its Institute for Mineralogy is one of leading research institutions in the fields of Mineral Physics, Geochemistry, and Experimental Petrology. Details about the institute, the research profiles of its members, and the available equipment can be found at https://www.uni-muenster.de/Mineralogie/en/institut/index.html

To be considered, applications must include: (1) a one-page statement of research interests and background; (2) a two-page proposed research plan (references excluded), including a description of how the project will integrate with and add to existing research in the Institute for Mineralogy; (3) a Curriculum Vitae together with a complete list of publications; and (4) a list of names and contact information for three references.

Candidates must hold a PhD (awarded no more than 3 years ago) and should e-mail their applications as a single pdf file to the current head of department (sanchezm"at"uni-muenster.de).

A review of applications will begin February, 28th, 2023 and continue until the positions are filled.

Application deadline: February, 28th, 2023
