The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is hiring! We are searching for a talented person to operate a new, state-of-the-art LA-ICP-MS facility in our New York laboratory. This position will involve running extensive tests and analyses on a unique, world-class sample suite, to determine the best possible limits of detection for trace elements in a variety of gem materials, including diamonds. This work will be done in collaboration with GIA Research Scientists and experts. The ideal candidate should have an MSc (or equivalent), including hands-on experience with LA-ICP-MS or other microanalytical / mass spectrometry techniques.
