Dear Colleagues,

We cordially invite you to submit an abstract to our GSA Connects 2026 topical session titled:

Laser-ablation advances in geochronology and thermochronology: From technique development to innovative applications

This session highlights advances in laser-ablation based sampling methods in geochronology and thermochronology, including but not limited to LA-ICP-MS, noble gas mass spectrometry, LIBS, and RIMS analysis with emphasis on technique development and novel applications. We invite contributions that focus on developing novel LA techniques, increasing our understanding of existing LA methods and LA-induced phenomena, or advancing the application of LA-based geo- and thermo-chronology to better understand geologic processes.

Invited Speakers: Alicia Cruz-Uribe (The University of Maine) and Morgan Adamson (UC Santa Barbara)

Link: Abstract Submissionhttps://gsameetings.secure-platform.com/connects26/organizations/main/home

The abstract submission deadline is August 6. We hope to see you in Denver!

Sincerely,
Session Conveners: Cullen Kortyna, James Metcalf, Rebecca Flowers (CU Boulder)
