Hello all,
Please pass this announcement along to anyone who may be interested.
Thanks so much,
Leah on behalf of the GEMS team
The Geoscience Education & Mentorship Support (GEMS)
<https://gems-program.org/> program is recruiting mentors and mentees for
the 2024-2025 academic year. GEMS supports individuals applying to or
exploring graduate school across the geosciences (including Earth,
atmospheric, ocean, planetary, and environmental sciences) through virtual
mentoring. We match students with mentors based on interests, needs, and
backgrounds.
Are you planning to apply to graduate programs now or in the future? Apply
to be a GEMS mentee <https://forms.gle/RARYC6H7iP5JgMKv5>! We’ll match you
with someone who can help guide you through the process.
Can you provide guidance for individuals applying to graduate programs? Join
our team of mentors <https://forms.gle/n3s4tHcnQoUivmcc6>! Mentors are
typically senior graduate students, postdocs, researchers, or faculty.
GEMS has two tracks: the Ruby Track is for individuals interested in going
to graduate school in the future, and the Sapphire Track is for individuals
applying to graduate programs during the current application cycle. Mentors
can choose to provide support in either track. Please note that we are not
currently accepting applications from international students who have never
been enrolled in a US degree-granting program.
The application deadline is Sept 30th. Matches will be assigned October 4th.
