Dear Colleagues,

We kindly invite you to submit abstracts to our session at Goldschmidt 2026
in Montreal:

Session 11a: Geochemical lenses into the environmental legacies and
futures of energy and mineral resources

As we navigate the global energy transition, understanding the geochemical
fingerprints of both legacy fossil fuel infrastructure and emerging
critical mineral extraction has never been more important. This session
brings together field, laboratory, and/or modeling studies examining how
energy and mineral resource use affects environmental quality and human
health.

We welcome contributions on:

  • Contaminant distribution across temporal and spatial scales
  • Geochemical signatures and tracers for source identification
  • Processes governing mobility, transformation, and fate of contaminants
  • Links between contaminant geochemistry and health risks
  • Policy-relevant science for environmental protection and resource
    management

Abstract deadline: February 26, 2026 Submit here:
https://conf.goldschmidt.info/goldschmidt/2026/meetingapp.cgi/Session/9058

Please share with colleagues and students who might be interested!

Best regards,

Rachel Coyte + Zhen Wang
