Position Description
The Department of Geology and Geophysics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking applications for a full-time 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor in Environmental Earth Science broadly defined. We welcome theoretical, laboratory, field, or combined approaches to address emerging societal challenges related to the environment. The successful applicant will lead a vibrant, cutting-edge research program that can leverage the existing strengths of the Department of Geology & Geophysics, while expanding our reach into national and international-scale initiatives. The anticipated starting date is Fall 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an independent and externally funded research program and contribute to transformative teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate will also conduct service activities in the Department, College and University, national and international professional communities, and participate in outreach activities. Texas A&M University is a Hispanic-serving, land-, sea-, and space-grant university, located at the center of the Bryan/College Station metro area with a dynamic and international community of over 270,000 people. Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or equivalent in a related research discipline.
