Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to submit an abstract to our AGU25 session,* V009. “Early
Earth Origin, Composition, and Evolution”* in the Volcanology,
Geochemistry, and Petrology section.

Here’s the link to our session:
https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu25/prelim.cgi/Session/251978

Please consider submitting an abstract by the upcoming July 30th deadline.

Session Description:

The early evolution of Earth set the stage for all subsequent planetary
processes, yet it remains challenging to reconstruct. This session explores
the origin, composition, and evolution of early Earth (Hadean and
Paleoarchean), focusing on the critical processes that shaped our planet
during its formative periods. We welcome contributions on a broad range of
related topics, including proto-Earth accretion, the giant impact, magma
ocean evolution, volatile delivery and loss, core formation, mantle
differentiation, crust formation, proto-atmosphere and oceans, and early
tectonics. Submissions employing diverse methods, such as geochemical or
geophysical observations, experimental petrology, mineral physics,
numerical modeling, and ab initio simulations, are all encouraged. This
session aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue to advance understanding
of Earth's first billion years and provide broader insights into the
evolution of terrestrial planets across the solar system and beyond.

Invited speakers:

Rebecca A. Fischer (Harvard University)

Yoshinori Miyazaki (Rutgers University)

On behalf of conveners: Haiyang Luo (Princeton University),

                                   Stephen Mojzsis (HUN-REN Research

Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences),

                                   Damanveer Grewal (Yale University),

                                   Thenganodiyil Amaldev (Cochin

University of Science and Technology),

Yiruo Xu (University of Michigan Ann
