Hydrothermal zircon

Dear all,
Some years ago, the mineral zircon was encountered in a hydrothermal
environment.
Some people considered those zircons not to be "endemic" to that
environment.
Has zircon been confirmed as a mineral that forms from scratch in a
hydrothermal environment?
If so, can anyone share the earliest reference(s) on hydrothermally formed
zircon?

Looking FW to your replies!
Meanwhile, the very best for 2025 to all!
Cheers, Herwig

Hi Herwig,

Happy New Year!

Urs Schaltegger had a summary of it in Elements in 2007.

Gentlepeople,
I apologize for the belated reply; quite a few people sent me direct
messages with lots of interesting references, so it took me a while to
process them.
Thanks to all who reacted, highly appreciated.

In return, I can provide you with a link to a recent article, written by
Olav Revheim, and published on the mindat website:

Enjoy the read!

Cheers, Herwig
