SZ4D Field Deployment Workshop, GSA Denver 8th October

Colleagues – I wanted to bring your attention to a one-day workshop being held before the GSA National Meeting in Denver in October as part of SZ4D – an initiative to investigate the processes that underlie subduction zone hazards (www.sz4d.orghttp://www.sz4d.org/).

The work envisioned for SZ4D will involve considerable fieldwork and provides the opportunity to reimagine many aspects of geoscience field activities.
This workshop is being held to identify the physical and human infrastructure needs to support SZ4D field geoscience. We are interested in the perspective of a diverse group of Earth scientists in thinking about different ways to do and support field activities!

This in-person, one-day workshop will take place at the Hyatt Regency next to the Denver Convention Center on the Saturday October 8th, immediately preceding the fall Geological Society of America national meeting. The workshop will take place from 9 am to 5 pm.  Coffee, snacks, and lunch will be provided.  We are also able to provide some travel support, particularly to early career scientists.

Applications are due Sept 9. Please apply herehttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf_g3MHfwn15NomGygOHVZ70EXEApJ4ve8SegATUP2-1Dzevg/viewform.

Thanks
Adam Kent
