Dear colleagues,

The Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida is searching for a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level in the broadly defined areas of petrology, high-temperature geochemistry, and the study of Earth and planetary materials with research interests including, but not limited to, (1) the origin and evolution of the Solar System, Earth, the Moon, and the terrestrial planets from the deep past to the present day; (2) studies of deep interiors; (3) the formation and tectonic settings of igneous rocks; (4) stable and radiogenic isotope systematics, including geochemistry and geochronology and; (5) solid-state metamorphic reactions.

The full ad is attached, and questions can be directed to the search committee chair, Dr. Joe Meert (jmeert@ufl.edumailto:jmeert@ufl.edu). Review of applications will begin on October 15th.  Applications can be submitted Herehttps://explore.jobs.ufl.edu/en-us/job/523748/assistant-professor-in-hightemperature-geochemistrypetrology.

I'd also like to emphasize that the Department of Geological Sciences is committed to maintaining an environment that welcomes diversity of ability, class, ethnicity/race, gender identity, and expression, and that we would whole heartedly welcome applicants from any LGBTQ+ group.

Please pass this on to any colleagues who you think would be interested.

All the best,
Steve Elardo
