Arya, We purchased the Leica EM ACE200 Carbon Thread Coater with the quartz crystal measurement (QSG) option about six months ago to replace our very (very) old carbon rod coater. I can affirm that everything Hanna states in her post about the ACE600 applies also to the ACE200 - we are very pleased with the reproducibility of the coating process, real time thickness measurement of the QSG, and the ease of use. If you’re just looking for moderate vacuum carbon coating the ACE200 is a more affordable option over the dual head, high-vacuum ACE600. All of my lab group report much enhanced quality of life with this upgrade, compared to the trials of using our old carbon rod system!
