Dear colleagues,

We encourage you and your students to submit an abstract to our session at the AGU25 Fall Meeting.

V004 - A multidisciplinary perspective into crustal evolution: from subduction zones to orogens

Abstract deadline: July 30, 2025
Conference date and locality: December 15 - 19, 2025 in New Orleans, LA.
Submission link here: https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu25/v/papers/index.cgi?sessionid=251803

Session description: The Earth’s crust evolved in response to various physicochemical changes since its formation. This evolution drives a range of processes operating across different tectonic environments (e.g. subduction zone and orogenic belts) and geological conditions (pressure, temperature, redox etc.). These crustal processes require multidisciplinary examination of the various lithologies to gain a full picture of the diverse geological processes of the planet. This session welcomes multidisciplinary studies that utilize diverse approaches to examine crustal processes in various tectonic settings. We welcome contributions that examine any aspects related to metasomatism, low- to high-grade metamorphism, and crustal melting, including but not limited to fluid-rock interaction, redox, rheology, decarbonation, metamorphism, and related metallogenesis.

We look forward to seeing you in NOLA.

Session conveners:
Wentao Cao, David Hernández-Uribe, Suzanne Autrey, Sean Mulcahy, Thomas Lamont

Best,
Wentao
