Dear Colleagues,
I’m in the process of upgrading the camera/ software/computer used with a Nikon Optiphot-2 Pol microscope. The goal is to be able to continue to generate publication quality images of rocks and minerals in thin section in transmitted and reflected light. We currently use Spot 5.0 software which communicates with a Mac OS computer via a IEEE 1394 Firewire board.  To upgrade the Spot software will require purchasing a new camera, camera mount, software and PC. I’m interested to hear from those who have recently purchased a camera and software for their polarizing microscope.  Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
Best,
Suzanne Baldwin
