MSA 2020 Elections for 2021 Officers and Councilors

The online ballothttps://msa.minsocam.org/electionstart2020.html is now available for this year’s elections on the MSA website.  Candidates for the different positions are:
President: Mark Ghiorso
Vice-President: Pamela Burnley and Craig Manning
Treasurer: Glenn Gaetani and Paul Tomascak
Councilor I: Robert Bodnar and Michael Williams
Councilor II: Darrell Henry and Jennifer Jackson
Voting is open until midnight on August 15, 2020. Those MSA members without email addresses will receive paper ballots and return envelopes. Any member may also request a paper ballot by contacting Ann Benbow at abenbow@minsocam.orgmailto:abenbow@minsocam.org.

Announcing the J. Alexander Speer Outreach Fund

At its recent virtual Spring Meeting, the MSA Council voted unanimously to rename the MSA Outreach Fund the J. Alexander Speer Outreach Fund to honor the organization’s Executive Director of 25 years. Donations to this fund support the MSA Distinguished Lecturer Program, other outreach activities, and the education portions of the MSA website. Members can contribute onlinehttps://msa.minsocam.org/donations_online.html to the fund, or send checks to the Mineralogical Society of America, 3635 Concorde Parkway, Suite 500, Chantilly, VA 20151-1110.
