Dear members of the Meteoritical Society,

In 2019, the Meteoritical Society established a new award for outstanding
contributions by a mid-career, female isotope geochemist, the Jessberger
Award.

The President and Council encourage members to nominate outstanding
candidates by January 15, 2020. It is crucial for the success of the
Jessberger Award and in order to honor the generous support by the
Jessberger Family that the award committee receives a substantial number of
nominations. The Meteoritical Society Council will select the nominee at
the Annual Meeting in Glasgow. The nominee would be announced at the
Business Meeting, and the award presented at the Awards Ceremony at the
Chicago meeting.

To be eligible, a candidate needs to be a female isotope cosmochemist who
has received her doctorate at least 10 years and not more than 20 years
before the year she is selected by the Council and whose scientific track
record shows great promise. The award is presented every other year
beginning in 2020. The award comes with prize money of USD 1,500.
Eligibility will include both Members and Non-members of the Society.
