Dear inclusionists,
We are delighted to let you know that a session on solid, melt and fluid
inclusions has been proposed for the EGU General Assembly 2026 (Vienna,
3–8 May 2026): "Looking into the unreachable: Inclusions as snapshots into
Earth processes, from the Crust to the deep Mantle and beyond" (section
GMPV1.1).
The keynote speaker of this session will be Prof. Robert J. Bodnar
(Virginia Tech, US), with a presentation on “What have we learned about the
distribution of water and organic molecules in the solar system from
studies of fluid inclusions in meteorites and mission return samples?”.
All contributions on solid, melt and fluid inclusions are welcome from any
field of Geosciences, spanning from magmatism, metamorphism and deep
mantle dynamics to palaeoclimatology and sedimentary processes, oil & gas
and ore deposits. We welcome contributions presenting innovative and
advanced tools to investigate natural samples and experimental studies. Early
career researchers are strongly encouraged to present their research work.
The deadline for submitting your contributions is Thursday 15th January
2026 (13.00 CET).
In the case you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the
organisers of this session: Sofia LORENZON (University of Pisa, Italy;
sofia.lorenzon@dst.unipi.it), Leonardo PASQUALETTO (University of Bergen,
Norway; leonardo.pasqualetto@uib.no), Tamás SPRÁNITZ (HUN-REN EPSS,
Hungary; spranitz.tamas@epss.hun-ren.hu) and Manfredo CAPRIOLO (University
of Birmingham, UK; m.capriolo@bham.ac.uk).
Looking forward to seeing you all in Vienna!
Best regards,
Sofia, Leonardo, Tamás and Manfredo
