Dear CMS Members:


Following the requests from many folks, we decided to extend the deadline for abstract submissions for the 57th Annual International Meeting of the Clay Minerals Society to March 15th, 2020.

The overall program of the meeting is shaping up quite nicely with many excellent sessions, workshops (three of them), tours, a great field trip organized by a renowned geologist in the Pacific Northwest, and many outstanding invited lectures and talks.

We hope to see you all in Richland, Washington in mid-June.


Who: 57th Annual International Meeting of the Clay Minerals Society
What: Choice of many excellent sessions, workshops and a field trip, invited lectures and talks
Where: Fabulous Richland, WA along the Columbia River and incredible facilities and the beautiful campus of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
When: June 15-19, 2020  (Abstract deadline March 15th).
Why: Because it will be fun!!!
Also:

  1.  Workshop about emerging methods in clay science that highlights powerful novel technologies and theoretical approaches that can tackle challenging problems over a range of scales and conditions
    
  2.  Workshop organized by junior staff at PNNL to demonstrate how science can be used to solve extremely complex environmental issues and the role of clays-size minerals
    
  3.  A Jade workshop organized by the International Centre for Diffraction Data
    
  4.  Ice Age Megafloods field trip!!!
