Dear MSA colleagues,We would like to invite contributions to the session (Theme 5-3) "The interior of the Earth, solar system planets, and exoplanets” at the 37th International Geological Congress (IGC) 2024 in Busan, Republic of Korea, during August 25-31, 2024.Understanding of the internal structure and dynamics of a planetary body is a requisite to understanding the planet’s external environment. Recent advances in extreme pressures and temperatures experiments using static and dynamic compression techniques, ab-initio calculations, geodynamical modeling, and solar system exploration are enabling comparative and systematic understanding of our worlds. Furthermore ever-expanding discovery of other worlds is loosening the preset constraints for composition, pressure, and temperature space in planetary studies to encourage collaborations in a broadening boundary of planetary community. This session is aimed to showcase recent efforts in mineral and shock physics, seismic observations, theoretical and geodynamical modeling, related to planetary interiors. The deadline for the abstract submission is 16 February 2024.Please visit IGC 2024 website at https://www.igc2024korea.org/ for further information. All the best,Session conveners:Yongjae Lee (yongjaelee@yonsei.ac.kr, Yonsei University, Korea)Sang-Heon Dan Shim (shdshim@asu.edu, Arizona State University, USA)Takuo Okuchi (okuchi.takuo.2w@kyoto-u.ac.jp, Kyoto University, Japan)
