Dear friends, We want to highlight a GSA session focused on in honor of Terry Pavlis. The GSA Connects 2024 conference is being held in Anaheim, California from September 22—25, 2024. The abstract submission portal is now open and abstracts are due by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on June 18, 2024. In addition to this session, Terry will be awarded the 2024 Career Contribution award from the Structure Geology and Tectonics division of GSA. So, it is very timely that we planned this session without knowing of this significant accolade.  Many of us have benefited from Terry's devotion to the field of geology and his mentorship and this an opportunity to celebrate and honor Terry and his continuing career. His career is broad, so presentations covering everything from tectonics, to structural geology, to geo-education, digital geology tools, etc. are welcome. He has influenced our thinking on ductile to brittle deformation, rheology of the Earth, triple junction processes, as well as every type of tectonic regime. We hope this session will honor his many achievements.  Invited speakers are Gary Pavlis (who has known Terry the longest) and recent PhD Erin Donaghy. We encourage a broad range of submissions to our session T188 Structural Analysis, Digital Mapping Advances, Tectonics, and Tectonic-Climate Processes from California to Alaska and Elsewhere: A Celebration of Terry Pavlis's Diverse Contributions and Career. Sincerely,Jeff Benowitz, Jinny Sisson, Ken Ridgeway, Lindsay Worthington, Sean Gullick, and Jay Chapman
