Hello all,
We are happy to announce new redesigned and improved version of MinPlot, called MinPlotX. MinPlotX is an open-source software for mineral formula recalculation and compositional plotting with an easy-to-use stand-alone graphical user interface (a license is not needed!).
The paper can be access here: https://doi.org/10.2478/mipo-2025-0003https://doi.org/10.2478/mipo-2025-0003
MinPlotX can be downloaded here:
https://github.com/NilsGies/MinPlotX
In the paper we provide some interesting applications for thermobarometry, geochronology, and provenance analysis. Particularly useful is the addition of metadata, such as sample name, analysis location, trace element concentration, age, and others, which can be used to subdivide or contour data.
We look forward to adding additional tools in the future and we encourage community feedback and additions.
Sincerely,
Jesse and Nils
