Dear Geochemistry Colleagues, I would be grateful if you could share this opportunity with suitable MSc students or early-career researchers who would like to do a PhD in Sweden. The project will focus on the occurrence and geochemistry of smectite clay minerals with relevance for nuclear waste disposal, and combine molecular simulations with experimental methods to study Swedish smectite-rich minerals serving as natural analogues to bentonite barriers. The project is funded by the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority and embedded in our molecular geochemistry research environment. Application deadline is January 19, 2026.
