Procrastinating about preparing classes for the fall? Back from the field,
but waiting on your thin sections? Consider contributing to Mineral
Monday. Organized by the MSA Communications Committee, this on-going
campaign features posts on minerals, petrology, careers paths in
mineralogy, and more. Postings are on Mondays, every week. Thank you to
those people who have already contributed!
You can contribute too. You may feature your research, a favorite mineral,
a student project, a recent publication, a career option in mineralogy, a
summary of your career, etc. Submit a photo (or 2, 3…) too! The committee
will lightly edit your post, add appropriate #hashtags, and line it up for
publishing.
If you wish, you may submit your posts (about 300 words long and images) to
our google form at:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSchicZymxWJmmBE5aaQHEHE3VV1N3oqzl2jqtVY1q4saoCdQA/viewform
Or submit directly to Andrea Koziol at Akoziol1@udayton.edu.
Posts will appear on the MSA accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X,
and Bluesky. In Fall 2025, we will look at which post has been the most
popular and will reward its author with a free RIMG volume of their choice!
In addition:
Thin Section Thursday: Featured on Instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/minsocam/ and other social media accounts every
Thursday. I am in charge of this too but I am low on images. Do you have
some from your research, or a publication, that you can share? Back
scatter electron images are OK too! Include a short caption. Send to
akoziol1@udayton.edu.
