Dear Members,

The untimely loss of our colleague Dr. Christine Floss left a vacancy on
Council. According to our Constitution, Article 3.8, Vacancies in the
position of Secretary, Treasurer or Councilor shall be filled by
appointment by the Council.

By decision of Council, Dr. Kuljeet Kaur Marhas will fill the vacancy on
Council including the conclusion of the 2017-2018 term (ending December 31)
and the 2019-2020 term.

We congratulate Dr. Marhas and look forward to her presence on Council.

Kuljeet Kaur Marhas

Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, India

Kuljeet Kaur Marhas is an associate professor in the Planetary Science
Division at Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, India. Her
research focuses on the isotopic and elemental studies of meteorites and
other extraterrestrial materials (asteroid/comet –sample return, IDPs) that
further our understanding on the origin and evolution of the early solar
system. She also has a strong interest in understanding stellar activities
via laboratory analyses of presolar grains.
