Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the 2026 edition of the Workshop on High-Pressure Mineral Physics and Magmatic Petrology , designed for Master’s and Ph.D. students interested in experimental Earth sciences.
The workshop will feature introductory lectures on key topics in mineral physics and magmatic petrology, combined with hands-on training in high-pressure experimental techniques.
Participants will gain practical experience with piston-cylinder, multi-anvil, and diamond anvil cell experiments, as well as melt inclusion analysis.
A dedicated session will also introduce synchrotron-based experiments.
Workshop Details:
Location: Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans, Clermont-Ferrand, France
Dates: November 2–6, 2026
Costs:
Participation is free of charge. The workshop covers travel within mainland Europe, accommodation, breakfast, and lunch. Please note that international airfare is not included.
Application Process:
Participation is limited to 15 students. Applicants will be selected based on the relevance of their academic background and research interests.
