Extreme Crystals Weekend - Undergraduate Workshop on Physics of Solids
at High Pressure
October 20-22, 2017
High Pressure Science and Engineering Center - University of Nevada, Las
Vegas
Learn about careers and science in the fields of high pressure physics
and chemistry. High pressure science is an expanding field that uses
pressure, in some cases exceeding that of the center of the Earth, to
explore the physical and chemical properties of matter. Get hands-on
experience with cutting edge research tools and find out how they are
used to make technical advances in fields from planetary science to
national security. This two and a half day weekend workshop is aimed at
undergraduate physics, chemistry, and geoscience majors interested in
pursuing graduate degrees who want to explore options in high pressure
science. The workshop will be hosted by the High Pressure Science and
Engineering Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Reimbursement for travel expenses is available.
Applications must be submitted before August 1, 2017.
