For those who might be interested (or know someone who might be):

In the Lowell Program in Economic Geology (lpeg.geo.arizona.eduhttp://lpeg.geo.arizona.edu) , we have at least two fully funded PhD projects and numerous masters-level projects related with a focus on mineral systems in southwestern North America. Projects combine mineralogical and geochemical approaches commonly with a field components. Support comes from a mix of Federal, industry, state and philanthropic sources. Mineral systems of particular interest include IOCG, porphyry Cu(-Mo), granite-related lithiophile element, polymetallic base metal (CRD, VMS), and sediment-hosted U-V-Cu(-Co-Ag).

For the PhD projects some industry experience or a masters would be helpful. Projects can start as early as January. Masters projects can be for either the 2-year MS program, or the 1-year industry oriented PSM (professional science masters) program.

Sincerely,
Mark Barton
