Dear CMS Members:

I have some questions concerning Wyoming Sodium Bentonite. Does anyone have answers to my questions below:

  1. Is the lead in sodium bentonite bonded or free?

  2. If the lead in sodium bentonite is bonded, would it be bioavailable to humans?

  3. If sodium bentonite is used for the adsorption of lead from contaminated soil and water, could that have the same effect on the human body?

  4. Have there been any study on using bentonite to remove lead from animals or humans?

  5. Have there been any studies with someone getting lead poisoning from bentonite or if the lead is bonded is it not possible to get lead poisoning before it passes through the body?

If you can help with any of these questions please contact me.

Thank you,

Danny Wright
