Dear colleagues,
Did you know the Pennsylvanian Period turns 323 million years old this October? (give or take a few hundred thousand years)
To celebrate, we're organizing a commemorative session at GSA Connects 2026:
Happy 323 Millionth Birthday, Pennsylvanian Period: A Celebration of Everything Pennsylvania(n)
This session welcomes presentations on:
- Pennsylvanian-aged geology from anywhere in the world
- Any geoscience conducted in Pennsylvania, USA - regardless of geologic age
If your work has a Pennsylvania or Pennsylvanian connection, we'd love to have you join us! Please consider submitting an abstract, feel free to forward this information to colleagues, students, and collaborators, and please join us for the celebration in Denver!
Abstract deadline is August 6, 2026. At this time, it does not appear to me that the search function is working, so please find us manually in the tabs of sessions!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions to Adam Ianno (aianno@pa.gov).
Best,
Adam
