Hello, MSA!

I'd like to draw your attention to a session of interest to many of
you: "Transforming
Earth and Planetary Science Through Data and Data Management: In Honor of
MSA Distinguished Public Service Medal Awardee, Kerstin Lehnert
"

Session Description:

This session honors the groundbreaking contributions of Dr. Kerstin
Lehnert, recipient of the MSA Distinguished Public Service Medal, to the
fields of geoinformatics, data stewardship, and Earth and planetary
science. Dr. Lehnert’s work has revolutionized the way scientific data is
collected, curated, and shared, enabling groundbreaking research across
disciplines. Her leadership in developing pivotal databases (e.g.,
EarthChem, PetDB, Astromaterials Data System) and her advocacy for FAIR
(Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data practices have laid
the foundation for the data-driven revolution in science.

This session will focus on the transformative role of data, data
infrastructure, data management, and data-driven applications in advancing
Earth and planetary science. We invite contributions that highlight the
integration of large-scale data resources, the development of innovative
data management tools, the application of FAIR principles to enable new
scientific discoveries, and data-driven scientific breakthroughs.

Please consider submitting an abstract to this exciting and forward-looking
session. We hope to see many of you there!

Best,
Shaunna
