Dear MSA colleagues,

I would like to draw your attention to the NSF supported US-Sri Lanka
Graphite Summit, to be held at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka,
from April 27th to May 1st, 2026. The purpose of the summit is to identify
and advance research priorities related to natural graphite, a U.S.
critical mineral essential for lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, and other
advanced materials.

This workshop will represent the first formal collaboration between the
United States and Sri Lanka focused on graphite research and will take
place at a critical moment for global critical-mineral exploration,
supply-chain resilience, and technology development.

If you are interested in attending, or have questions about the summit,
please see the website below or feel free to email me (mstokes@usgs.gov) or
any of the folks listed on the website.  Abstracts are due mid February.
Hope to see some of you there!
