Hello, MSA!

I'd like to draw your attention to a great session entitled, "Advancing
Mineral Science and Exploring Planetary Surfaces: In Honor of MSA Dana
Medalist, Elizabeth B. Rampe
"

Session Description:

This session honors the groundbreaking contributions of Dr. Elizabeth B.
Rampe, recipient of the MSA Dana Medal, to the fields of mineralogy,
geochemistry, and planetary science. Dr. Rampe’s work has significantly
advanced our understanding of martian mineralogy and geologic processes
through her leadership on the NASA Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) Curiosity
rover mission, particularly as Deputy Principal Investigator of the CheMin
X-ray diffraction instrument. Her research has reshaped our understanding
of martian surface processes, including aqueous alteration, diagenesis, and
the potential for past habitability.

This session will focus on in-situ planetary mineral and geochemical
observations, as well as on integrating orbital, laboratory and field data.
We invite contributions that highlight advancements in mineral science,
planetary surface exploration, and the use of analog materials to interpret
extraterrestrial environments.

Invited speakers:
Aditi Pandey, NASA JSC
Dave Blake, NASA Ames

Please consider submitting an abstract to this great session - we hope to
see many of you there!

Best,
Shaunna Morrison
