All the best, Pierre ——— Dear colleagues, map lovers, and mineral enthusiasts, We are organising an online event on 28 February 2024 at 16:00 (UTC+1) to present the use of XMapTools 4.3 for data reduction of LA-ICP-MS maps. The new version of XMapTools contains several exciting new features, and is now more flexible than ever in the data types it can handle, opening our world to new users and ways to calibrate and interpret 2D data. Please register on our website if you would like to join us on Zoom for the presentations and to ask questions. The event is expected to last between 1 and 1.5 hours. We will give several short presentations on the new method for multi-phase quantitative compositional mapping by LA-ICP-MS, including map generation and calibration of inhomogeneous phases such as chemically zoned minerals. We will show how to import, convert and calibrate data in XMapTools. Finally, we will show some applications where LA-ICP-MS map data can be used for structural formula calculations and thermometry.
