XRD anode question: Co vs Mo

Hello all,

We have had the good fortune to receive positive news about funding for a
new powder XRD. We plan to operate this primarily with a Cu anode, but we
do have undergraduate students who periodically have projects that require
analysis of Fe-rich and Mn-rich minerals.

The manufacturer does not currently have a Mo anode available (backordered
for months, most likely) but does have a Co anode available. What are the
advantages/ disadvantages of a Co source relative to a Mo source?

Many thanks for your responses!
Kirsten
