Dear colleagues,

We’d like to draw your attention to an exciting session we are putting together at the AGU Fall meeting (13-17 December 2021, New Orleans):

Phase diagrams and dynamics of exoplanets and their building blocks (DI015)

Session ID: 124886

Section: Study of Earth's Deep Interior

In recent years, advances in computational and experimental capabilities have enabled us to push the experimental frontier to unprecedented conditions and to observe and model more complex planetary systems. While exoplanet observations continue to detect and characterize smaller bodies from super-earth to sub-earth in size, experimental studies of planetary building blocks have allowed us to ask questions about ever larger planets. We call on experimenters, calculators, and modelers to contribute their studies of planetary interiors, their component minerals, and mineral assemblages. We seek contributions on the effect of composition and volatiles on phase diagrams, equations of state, and transport properties of minerals at extreme conditions. We also invite those who use these properties to study exoplanet formation and subsequent evolution.

Conveners:

June Wicks (Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA)

Melissa Sims (Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA)

Kaitlyn Amodeo (University of California, Davis, Davis, USA)

Please, note the hybrid character of the conference this year and the COVID safety protocols for in person access. Learn more herehttps://www.agu.org/Fall-Meeting/Pages/About.

The deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, 4 August at 23:59 EDT.

Best wishes,

Melissa, June, and Kaitlyn
