Dear Colleagues (apologies for cross postings),
We are looking to hire a postdoctoral fellow in thermodynamic modeling of planetary materials. The posting can be found here: https://arizona.csod.com/ux/ats/careersite/4/home/requisition/21759?c=arizona
From the description of duties and responsibilities:
The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to construct and catalog thermochemical databases, use density functional theory to compute thermochemical properties of mineral phases relevant to calcium-aluminum-rich inclusions (CAIs) and their solid solutions for which appropriate thermochemical data may be be lacking, and construct thermodynamic models and calculate the phase diagrams of those systems. The candidate will be part of a team focused on characterizing CAIs down to the atomic level using electron microscopy and comparing the characterization data with model output to infer the thermodynamic conditions and chemical pathways through which CAI phases formed.
The advertisement will remain open until filled. Any questions or informal inquiries can be directed to me at tzega@arizona.edumailto:tzega@arizona.edu.
We would appreciate it if you could pass this on to anyone who might be interested.
Thank you.
