Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to participate in a 2022 GSA Cordilleran and Rocky Mountain Joint Section Meeting (March 15-17th, 2022) session on "Directly dating deformation, metamorphism, and metasomatism through petrochronology". We envision an exciting session that highlights presentations and discussions of new techniques, discoveries, and applications of petrochronology. Abstract submission is open, and the deadline is coming up quickly, December 7th (submit herehttps://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgsa.confex.com%2Fgsa%2F2022CD%2Fcfp.cgi&data=04%7C01%7Cstaciag%40unr.edu%7Ca0e02eced3e04d84c98708d9aea06a32%7C523b4bfc0ebd4c03b2b96f6a17fd31d8%7C1%7C0%7C637732826283896089%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=kdZs4HZaULnY6XY5svk%2B9MOgCI%2BJKKRy3PyZhXyUoIQ%3D&reserved=0).

Below is the session description:
Session T13:  Petrochronology allows correlation of isotopic dates with deformation, metamorphic, and metasomatic fabrics. Thus, this tool can address crustal rheology as well as mechanical and chemical processes across a wide range of tectonic settings. We welcome contributions that integrate geochronology, thermochronology, geochemistry, and/or microtextural/microstructural analysis to unravel complex deformation histories and tectonic processes

The 2022 GSA Cordilleran and Rocky Mountain Joint Section Meeting will be held in person in Las Vegas, Nevada. We hope to see you in Las Vegas!

Sincerely,
Margo Odlum, Cailey Condit, and Stacia Gordon
