The Department of Geological Scienceshttps://geology.nmsu.edu/facultydirectory/index.html at New Mexico State University invites applications for a 9-month Visiting Assistant Professor sabbatical replacement position beginning 15 August 2022. We seek a geoscientist to fulfill our curricular needs in physical geology, tectonics, and GIS at the undergraduate and graduate levels. New Mexico State University is located in the southern Rio Grande rift, with ample examples of many geologic phenomena. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or ABD in geoscience at the time of appointment.
The department offers programs leading to the BS and MS degrees and is fairly small with five faculty lines (https://geology.nmsu.edu/).
