Speaker - Emmanuel Fritsch

Dr. Emmanuel Fritsch is a professor of physics at the University of Nantes (Nantes Universitéhttps://english.univ-nantes.fr/) in western France. He holds a geological engineering degree from the ENSG, Nancy, Eastern France, and a Ph.D. from the Sorbonne (university Paris VII) in Paris. He worked for nearly ten years at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in the USA, where he became a Graduate Gemologist (GG), and was promoted manager of GIA Research from 1992 to 1995.
Dr. Fritsch's research is currently based at the Institut des Matériaux Jean Rouxel (IMN-CNRShttps://www.cnrs-imn.fr/index.php.html) in Nantes. His scientific interests are broad, encompassing all areas of research that can be applied to gemology. He is dedicated to advancing the scientific rigor of the field and making gemology more empirical. Dr. Fritsch has authored over 400 articles and contributed to more than 20 books. He also oversees the DU Gemmologie (Diplôme d’Université de Gemmologie) programhttps://sciences-techniques.univ-nantes.fr/formations/du-gemmologie, an internationally recognized advanced diploma in gemology.
