We greatly appreciated your interest in the 2021 edition of the tourmaline conference in Elba Island. This year, participants are invited to convene in the charming colonial city on Madagascar’s highlands, world-famous for its classic localities producing outstanding tourmaline specimens, gemstones and a wide array of associated and rare minerals. The Conference will include three days of scientific sessions; visits to local mineral and gem markets, artisanal gem-cutting factories; two days of field visits to tourmaline mines in the lower and upper Sahatany valley. For a limited number of participants, an additional excursion to the legendary locality of Anjanabonoina is organised as a post-conference field trip.
